In todays tight economic times I am trying to come up with a bit of extra money. I have decided to sell my 2005 honda accord with 87,000 miles and am thinking of getting a 2001 toyota solara with 86,000. I am loosing a few years but am thinking given that it is a toyota that may not make much difference. I am a single person and this needs to be dependable and reliable and not cost me alot in maint and repairs or i have defeated my purpose. Is the solara going to be a good choice?? Thanks for the feedback.. . .greatly appreciated!!!

I think if you are saving a significant amount of money by switching to a Solara, then it would be a good idea. If the Toyota Solara has 86,000 miles it is 4 years older and has about the same mileage, hopefully you will only have the same problems that come with your Honda. It seems that you drive a good amount from the information you provided. The Solara doesn't have as good of fuel mileage as the Accord with the same sized engine. It's smaller, unless you have a coupe. And again, if its the same sized engine, it produces less horsepower. The Honda also has a better NHTSA crash rating. If you would like to compare the cars go to Cars.com. I hope this helps a little.
