I own a 2007 Ford Explorer that has auto headlamps (headlamps turn on/off automatically). The auto headlamps seem very sensitive. They'll turn on when driving down a tree lined road, stay on for a few seconds, then go out. I previously owned a 1998 Ford Explorer with auto headlamps and they worked fine. Has anyone else experienced this problem with a newer Ford Explorer ???

much earlier models did have some adjustability inside the control unit..
last time i looked at the automatic headlight system.. it was about 10 pages in the manual... there is usually a small photo cell in the dash board... when the light hits it .. it creates a tiny amount of power... drive through the shade.. the voltage drops.. the circuit turns on the head lights... the point where the voltage drops to and turns on the system used to be adjustable..
you have not tinted your windshield have you???? that will cut down on the light and trip the circuit earlier...
you will need to get information from alldatadiy.com or eautorepair.net...

somewhere on the dash board... usually .. it could also be on the back of the rear view mirror.. they can be less than a quarter inch in diameter... and in or under the speaker grill.. but its the controller that you need to find... and how it operates... that takes the factory information...
sorry i cannot help more.. i just don't have any data on your truck...
