My front and Middle fans no longer work. The back REAR fan works, but the adjustable one in the center and the front do not. We checked the fan motor itself and it works. We have tested the relays under the hood and THEY are okay. I went on line to a parts place and found several different parts for the blower including a resistor, but they do not say where they are located. The manual does not show them either. I am going to go to the parts place and see if they will run a scan for any codes, but thought I would go on and post this as it takes a while to get an answer.
Before the fan quit I was getting a beep sound ever so often. THAT quit, then when I put the fan on the lowest setting the AC would go off until I put it up a notch. THEN sometimes after the AC was on and blowing through the vents, it would quit flowing thru the vents and come out the floor vents. Then the blower motor would rev up and again flow thru the vents again. It would do this off and on, but not consistantly. Never knew when it would happen. We had a cold front come thru and I turned off the AC and was only running the fan. I stopped to get gas and when I started the van the motor no longer worked. We are totally confused about what to replace and IF we can replace it ourselves. Any information on this subject would be GREATLY appreciated. MUST have a fan as I am a taxi driver (owner/operator) and need for my passengers to be comfortable. Being a taxi driver, funds are limited. No trips no pay! Thank you for any help you can give me.

the control panels do go bad...
the system as far as i can tell is computer controlled..
you will need a really decent scan tool with manufacturer data to really diagnose the problem.. a generic OBD 2 scan tool may not access the data from the body ... some will some won't...
you will also need professional data..
alldatadiy.com
or
eautorepair.net
both have subscription services.. 10 to 30 bucks for a week or a year or two.. they are the same electronic info that professionals have on their work bench..
there will be trouble codes.. that may be what the beeping was..
autozone.com does have some information up to 2003 on your model.. but it is not as complete as the payed version..
is there a wrecked taxi of the same year that you could grab the AC control off of to test it.. it does plug in after carefully removing it from the dash.. autozone.com does show how to do that for free... you do have to register and log in to access the free repair info.. and you will have to look at the 2004 or 2003 model.. i don't know how close they are...

Thank you for the information. I will try the control panel. I am thinking that That may be the problem. The fan works, but it is not getting any power. Relays check out.
