I have a 2001 Grand Prix 3800 Supercharged Engine that needs to be replaced. I was wondering if it is possible to change the setup and install an engine that is not supercharged? If this is possible what is the general procedure and how difficult is it? What all needs to be done?
All help is appreciated.
Thanks

if you can find a complete one with transmission , complete engine control wiring harness, ECM, and or BCM.... it really should plug in.. you might try to buy a complete car that was rear ended.. and swap parts.. the engine control harness stays with the engine and comes out with it.. takes about 10 minutes to unplug it inside the car and push the end through the firewall.. you may have problems if you need to smog the car..
you might try to find an assembly manual for that car... as the differences will be listed in it.. i don't know if they still make that manual... but the older cars it sure came in handy knowing what went where..
be sure to pick up 2, 10 packs of fuel line O rings.. one large size, one small size return lines.. no use turning it into a fiero..
the engine and transmission come out with the subframe/ cradle..
need more info just reply to this one..
