I have a 1997 Buick Regal.
I would like to put new tires on it.
The old ones are 225/60/r16.
I would like to put on something wider and lower profile.
Would 235/50/r16's fit the car properly?
Any qualified opinion os greatly appreciated.

Using a 235/50R16 would be going down in load carrying capacity, which increases the risk of a load related tire failure, which sometimes has tragic results.
A 235/55R16 would be a better choice.

Good point. Thanks for the input.
What about the width though? /what's the widest tire that would properly fit on a 6-1/2" wide rim?
