first the car just jerked a little when it switched gears (just barely though im not even sure it was a jerk really, just felt like a rough trans shift during a certain gear) now its going into too high of rpms before switching gears problem came out of no where did a trans fluid cahnge, car sat mostly after that (sat for around 2, 3 months prolly) fixed the over car heating problem (fan runs all the time now) not that i think that has anything to do with it
and idk what to do also the car is hard to put into park and is rough moving around "gears"
took it to lee myles he drove it and he said, the shifting "gears" being hard is the shifting cable being stuck and the car going into too high of rpms before switching gears is probabl the "tv" cable getting stuck if its not the tv/tb cable getting stuck he said drop the transmission pan if theres no shavings then something needs to be taken out, taken apart (and possibly cleaned? i forget) if theres shavings though obviously dont bother
any opinions? i got a different lee myles and he said the trans is probably just going bad and to not even bother.
thanks so much

First, make sure nothing is obstucting the cable and detent linkage on top of the transmission. Now disconnect the cable from the lever at the top of the transmission to see if the lever moves easy. It's most likely the shaft is rusted inside the shift linkage shaft. Remove the lever and the seal under it and spray a generous amount of penetrating lube into the shaft area. This should free it up and fix the problem.
