Do I need a power steering flush? what would be the benifits?

do you need to have your power steering fluid flushed ...
which means he mechanic will change the fluid in your system for new... depends... on how tired and warn your fluid is... if it had overheated and lost is lubricating abilitys...
some cars with aluminum housing pumps really like fresh power steering fluid once in a while...
there are several ways to flush it... there in only about a quart or a quart and a half in any system..
some shops have invested thousands in a power steering flush machine.. and try their best to sell the service... they have also been caught.. a few have.. selling. charging for it.. and not doing it..
if you pump is noisy... it may be already too late...

You can do it yourself. Buy a full quart of the right power steering fluid for your vehicle (they're NOT all the same fluid). Use a turkey baster or hand vacuum pump to suck all the fluid out of the reservoir. Then refill. Start the engine and let it run for 15 seconds. Then repeat the procedure until you've used up the entire quart. By then you will have replaced at most of the fluid and saved yourself $50.
Fluid lubricates and helps carry heat away from the pump. As it ages, the additives get exhausted. New fluid keeps everything working well and prevents wear.
