yes... it will fit.. but it will take tons of work to do it... and you will probably have to change the transmission also... i don't think it will bolt up to the existing trans...
anything is possible with pockets full of money..
did you find the free online repair manual on the autozone web site???/
did i scare you with my description of the amount of work to clean sand out of the engine components..
i have met people who would build mazda rotary motors on their front lawn.. on the grass... dropping parts into the grass and having to search for them.. i gave them a piece of plywood i happened to have... they were much happier...
cleaning and proper assembling the 1.6 is going to be easier than a swap.... swaps cost thousands..
even finding a complete replacement engine will be in the end less expensive..
since its hard to shove a piece of plywood through the net.. i thought i would share my knowledge..
