iT.S BEEN SITTING THERE FOR OVER A YEAR AND HE NEVER STARTED IT THE WHOLE TIME.nOW THAT HE GAVE IT TO ME i'VE TRYING TO GET IT TO RUN but I CAN'T GET IT TO IDLE? IT WILL ONLY STAY RUNNING AS LONG AS I AM PUMPING THE GAS PEDAL LIKE A MADDMAN.WHEN I STOP IT DIES.i HAVE ADDED FUEL INJECTOR CLEANER TO THE GAS AND EVAN WENT AND SPENT 6.75$$ TO BUY SUPER HIGH OCTAIN 110 RACING GAS{fuel} to the existing gas that was already in the tank to try to {bring the old gas back to life}But it's still won't idle yet!!ANY thought's or ideas on what else i can do ?

i would start by pinching off the vacuum hose to the power brake booster... when the power brake booster leaks internally... it can dump enough air into the intake to cause the engine not to idle..
it might be a good thing to pull the air duct off between the air flow meter and the throttle body..
have someone with the engine off... hold the gas pedal to the floor... with a shop rag and your fingers wipe out the throttle body bore... i usually use some spray on the rag ... only a little spray into the bore.. some are teflon lined.. so the build up does not stick.. warning.. spraying too much into the bore will fill the engine with this solvent.. and cause a hydraulic lock when you try to start it... a very bad thing..... damage to the throttle position sensor can also happen from spray getting into it..
on the top or side of the throttle body is the idle air control motor... it can also be bad.. it is a linear motor that moves a piston to change the amount of bypass air the computer is asking for...
one more thing... pumping the gas pedal like a mad man will only mess with the system... make it crazy...
you have to let the system learn... without your foot on the gas... turn the key on... count to 10... depress the gas pedal a small amount.. start the motor ... keep it running at about 2500 to 3000 RPM... gradually let your foot off the gas... take 30 to 45 seconds to do it... this will allow the ECM to learn where every thing goes...
any air leaks in the ducting between the air flow meter and the throttle body may give you problems...
there is an base idle speed adjusting screw on the throttle body...
