I haven't heard of any. What are your specific problems?

Actually I am having massive issues with my 2004 Colorado ZQ8. I filed Wensday with the BBB Auto Line, GM's arribatration (sp?) of choice. The truck has been in now 5 times, and am about to take it in for a 6th because the rear tires locked up at highway speed last night. Below is basically what I have been experiencing.

1st time in was because the rear tires locked up after applying light pressure to the brakes. I was slowing the truck down slightly on a downgrade and went into a skid like there was no ABS on the truck. Took it in and they could not repeat in a drive and sent me on my way without even checking the brake system.

2nd time was about a month later, same result with the dealership.

Note: Both times the service guy said, all Colorado's have touchy brakes. What the hell is that, sounds like very poor QA at GM.

3rd time I complained both to GM and the dealership. I also at that time had the Throttle Body replaced because the cruise control went completely out. The couldn't duplicate the brake issue either. Now here it gets funny, the same day I got the truck back for the throttle body, they apparently did a test drive to check everything. Well when I got it I drove to my house from the dealer with the front brakes locked up and drove it back the same day. They replaced the booster turned the front rotors and replaced the front brake pads and said it should be good to go.

4th time, rear tires locked up this time. I had to wait 5.5 hours for a tow truck to come so you can imagine how upset I was that night. They replaced the master cylender and sent me on my way.

5th time, the truck was experiencing the same symptoms again (brakes being touchy, brake pedal felt a little soft, felt like the brakes were stepping to a stop, etc.) so I took it in. They discovered (mind you after being in 5 times!) that the brake fluid installed at the factory was blueish and oily, not translucent and watery like brake fluid. They flushed the brake system and bled the brakes.

6th time, last night the rear's locked up again. Up until now, all incidents have happened at low speed (20-40 MPH). Last night the rears locked up at 70 MPH while I touched them to disengage the cruise control. Let's put it this way, if I didn't have a skid control class back in high school when I lived up north I probably wouldn't be typing right now. Someone that saw everything came up to me right after to check on me and said I have never seen someone keep control of a skid like that. Thank you Pennsylvania School systems for requiring skid control in drivers ed!

Anyhow, as you can see, I definately have an issue with the new Colorado. It's a shame because the trucks looks awesome, now if they were just built that way.

Signed,
A very annoyed life long buyer of GM (maybe not the next time!)

I have a 95 cavalier that is doing the same thing!!! Had new brakes put on , but still no luck fixing it. Noticed this post is kinda old, but hoping you have found what the problem was with yours and might let me know the outcome so I might get some idea what to possibly check for on mine.....maybe chevy and GM just suck at brakes!!!

it could be a problem with the abs sensor or the ECU of the vehicle. best thing to do is get rid it and look for a better truck. i really like the new xrunner

Funny this post came back around...about 2 weeks ago I saw a Colorado out in front of my shop trying to bake a left turn and the front brakes locked up.
