Okay, so there are alot of friggin' makes and models of vehicles and I have no idea where to begin looking!  I am looking to trade in my current vehicle as I obviously was not thinking long-term when I bought it.  I have a 2005 Scion xA right now and definitely need something bigger for my growing family.  I need something with nice leg room in the back, maybe even third row seating(?).  I love SUV's but hate the gas mileage they get. I am not a minivan person so that's out.  I wouldn't mind a larger sedan, but I want a car that looks nice as well.  I was looking at the Nissan Murano if anybody has any opinions on that vehicle.  Like I said, there are just too many vehicles out there and I don't know what's what.  Please help!

You bought a Scion last which is a Toyota. You had a great choice there. Go with Toyota again. The Highlander or the Rav4 are great cars, and you may not like the Seinna(mini van) but you should atleast take it for a drive before you rule it out. They are way confortable and if you have a growing family, this may be your best investment. You should check out this website  http://www.100overinvoice.net  You can buy any new vehicle for $100 over the dealerships invoice. It;s the best and easiest way to buy a buy today!

You do not specify whether you are going to buy a new or used and what price range??

As far as sedans go I like GM's line and they last 200k without any major problems.  I have also seen Saturn vehicles last a very long time.  I would recommend most GM products over Ford and especially over Crysler.

I am a huge proponent of buying used cars based solely off the condition of individual vehicles - though it should be noted that I am cheap as h**l and pay as little as I possibly can for any given car.

Instead of decicing which car you want to buy and then going and buying one of those (unless you are shopping for a new car, in which case that is precisely what to do) you should start by seeing what is available in your area and in your price range.

For me, it is all about the deal.  I prefer to keep my options open to all vehicles in a specific class instead of choosing the exact make and model I want first.  By shopping according to class you can objectively look for the individual car that is in the best condition, with the lowest mileage, being sold by someone you feel comfortable buying from.  Most especially this can help you to avoid some vehicle markets that are artificially inflated due to demand or perceived value.

I hope this information is helpful
