does it have any stored codes ????????

just curious...  does the ignition key have a resistor pellet in it..   does the security light come on..

is the fuel pump noisy?????  i have had fuel pumps fail while driving...  then work fine in the shop....

there is a test for electric fuel pumps.. but it involves a bunch of bucks in tools...    a low amp current probe...   usual cost about 160 bucks...  and a hand held digital storage scope.. cost.. $2,500 to $8,000 bucks.   with that.. you can watch the current flow into the motor as the armature spins...  just think of the motor...    the brushes contact a single winding... then the armature turns and the brushes contact another winding..

with tons on money invested in tools..  you can clamp over the fuel pump wire...  and record the surges of current into the spinning armature...   if you get nice even pulses... you probably have a good motor...  if you get repeating variable pulses .. the fuel pump is going bad...

it's just cheeper for the average person to swap in a new pump..  and strainer... if they are noisy..

i take it that you don't have any distributer.. that model should have a coil pack...

i am thinking crank position sensor failure...  cam sensor failure usually will not cause a motor to stall.. but it is possible...

with a toronado... you might be able to access the engine codes without a scan tool...   on the AC panel...   hold down the OFF and WARMER buttons at the same time for a few seconds.. if all the segments of the display light up for a few seconds.. you have it...   watch for trouble codes to be displayed...on that panel.. or on another panel on the dash board..

turn off the ignition key to exit the diagnostic program

there are ways to access the engine data also via the various buttons...    this is not simple..   and the data is basic....

if could also be the mass air flow meter... bad ground wires... broken wires..  loose connectors.. blown out computers...

online repair manuals will be needed ... alldatadiy.com or eautorepair.net..

post any codes you get out of the computer...

E??? codes... and others...
