I've been looking for a new or used mid size type car. I've driven all of the above plus a Nissan Altima. Which one should I stay away from, which one is going to be the most dependable, comfortable, least road noise? Which one is the best for my money? I'm on info and test driving overload.

If you are going on dependable, comfortable and least road noise I would suggest the Buick.  I would say comfort and road noise the leader out of all the vehicles you named.  In my opinion I would stay away from the Pontiac and here is why: just remember Oldsmobile and what happened with their value after being axed, this is something that could very easily happen to Pontiac.  But on the flip side you can get a great deal on a new G6 with their incentives and also taking advantage of the CARS "Cash for Clunkers."

It looks like we are shopping a few of the same vehicles, my criteria are large sedan, with some style, low maintenance, average mileage, in the $6k to 10k price range. I am 6'4 and over 300lbs so I don't fit in everything.
I have sat in, researched, and or test driven the following:
2000 Mitsu Diamante - too small $5500
1999-2005 Nissan Maxima - too small 6500-10k
*2001 Chrysler 300m-nice still researching maintenance
2005 Buick Lacrosse- nice but not enough room, maintenance?
*2004-2005 Nissan Altima, 2.5s, 3.5s, and SER- questionable reliability, decent room
*2004 Chevy Impala LS,SS  nice roomy, not bad looking, 04 best reliability model year per www.edmunds.com
*Audi A8- room, handling, style - I love but I am worried maintenance will cost a arm and a leg...still researching
Interested in Ford 500, and Pontiac Grand Prix and G6
Camry's for me are nice but pricey as it is vehicle that is in demand
------
per my research  I would say the Camry and Impala would be the best values. The impala for overall value, and the Camry more money but better reliability and resale

Please share any reliability and maintenance info/issues for the cars I placed an * beside especially the 2000 Audi A8! Thanks!
