Everyone knows that the Ford Mustang is America's Top Favorite Pony. Well apperantly this is true as it actually made to the Top 10 Most Stolen vehicles in the U.S. Now this mustang was a very specific one though....the 2000 Ford Mustang. So this got me thinking and started wondering, with the recent release of the Chevy Camaro, is the Camaro next online to be stolen? It certainly is a popular car but how good its is security system? What do you think?

Meanwhile here is the list:

1. 1989 Toyota Camry
2. 1991 Honda Accord
3. 1995 Honda Civic
4. 1988 Toyota Pickup
5. 1991 Nissan Sentra
6. 1990 Acura Integra
7. 1993 Saturn SL
8. 1987 Toyota Corolla
9. 1992 Chevrolet Full Size C/K 1500 Pickup
10. 2000 Ford Mustang

thanks for the link...

why are the insurance companies putting up with cars that are easily stolen...  how many people each year have to die because of stolen cars being drivable.

how many cars of each model are stolen.. and the way it is started.. bypassing the factory security systems and locks..     forward that to the car companies..  to the insurance companies..  to lawyers... who represent people killed or injured by felons driving stolen cars..

i know that cars are stolen with tow trucks...  the bandit drivers mark the windshields with tire crayons like they were just released from the impound...  so no cop is going to stop them..

How good a security system is shouldn't factor at all in this type of situation. All modern cars now feature pretty much the same security system from the factory. If someone wants to steal it, they will regardless of security systems or theft deterring devices. For example, modded cars with everything you can think of- fuel cut, removable steering wheel, hidden hood latch/release cable, etc. still get stolen because thieves want it. It has nothing to do with what it came with from the factory.

Also, yes, if a thief wanted a car badly enough, they'll simply tow it. I've heard of many cases like that and nothing can be done about it.

How can they not do something about it? If its there car and the owner reports it stolen the PD should shoot to kill the damn thief. At the same time the owner of the tow truck should be arrested as well. Sometimes the law just makes no sense.

I'm not saying you can't report it to the police or anything, but that you can't completely prevent a car from getting stolen. Obviously, a car thief that gets caught will be punished to the fullest extent of the law (and possibly even more if they are caught by the owners of the cars themselves  )

HAHAHA....if it were me and I would catch the person stealing my car, which so happens to be a mustang, I would make sure he would never steal again. I hear if they get there hands chopped of they get the idea and stay away from stealing!!

Why did the OP say the Mustang is at the top of the list when it is number 10, making it the least stolen vehicle on the list.

If you were reffering to me...then the list points out the top 10 in the nation. Yes the Mustang hit 10 but it's still the TOP 10. So yea. HAHA.

But the title of the thread is "2000 Ford Mustang Tops Most Stolen List" your title is implying that it would be number one which it is not.

Wasn't thinking about that when I created the title. But yea as I mentioned before, it only implies that it's on the top 10 most stolen vehicles.
