New or Rebuilt Injector

My '98 Toyota 4Runner with a 3.4L has 185K miles.  I have a bad injector (open circuit between injector terminals) and noticed that a new injector is about 3 times the cost of a rebuilt one.  Should I get a new one or a rebuilt?  The remanufacturing process is basically a cleaning with new o-rings. So I get a clean injector with old electronics. Is there a limit to the life of the electronics in an injector?
Thanks

Hi!

I have Renault Clio 1.5 dCi, 100 HP, 94k miles and my car had some injector problems. Quite a few times I got a warning that something is wrong with my engine (if I overtook someone or accelerated rapidly).

I took my car to mechanic. He hooked it up to a computer and they told me that I have low fuel pressure in two of four cilinders. That was because two injectors were bad. They had to replace all four injectors (new ones) and it costed me 1.200 €. They told ne that if would exchange only two faulty ones, I would have to exchange other two soon, because injectors naturaly fail after certain time. How soon? ...well...it depends on your local fuel quality and newer the car...easyer it is to break down because of the fuel. That is what at least my mechanic told me. He also told me that with new injectors I would have to pay a bit more, than for rebuilt ones, but after that it shouldn't worry for next 100k miles.

so...it would be wise to put in new injectors and after that try to find out which gas stations have the best fuel quality and refuel your car there in the future. My experience is that not all pumps have the same fuel quality. I always refuel my car at pump that gives me the best milage (yes, fuel quality varies with different fuel suppliers).
