Was running about 30 mph and engine shutdown.  Can get restarted but won't stay started.  Replaced fuel filter, throttle positioner sensor, and checked fuel for contamination.  You can push on gas pedal and engine does not rev-up.  Will crank but sputters.

sounds like the fuel pump in the tank has or is going bad...

they do that a lot...  and yes... you do have to drop the tank to get it out...   not an easy thing...

complete fuel pump hanger assemblies are available...   individual fuel pumps are also available..  for some applications..

do not run the pump dry...    when you get the truck back on the road.. try your best not to run it below a quarter tank..   the fuel pumps tend to burn out faster when the tank is below a quarter

oh.. put a new fuel filter on it also...

along with new orings on the filter ...    i have found that the fuel filter Orings are the same as the larger fuel rail seals for various other Port fuel injected cars...

it does take a special tool to unhook the fuel lines from the top of the sending unit...   they have sets of short versions at most parts stores.. they work great..  the job cannot be done without it...
