Hello,
I am doing research regarding a side impact collision with a Lincoln LS (2000-2003 models) in which the airbag deployed. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

i wonder if that model has the black box recorder in it????? if so.. a lot of data will be available to someone with the access to it... i have heard that sometimes the research people remove the black boxes while the car is in the impound yard... before the owner can pick it up... less chance of the data getting lost in the scrap yard shredder...
i take it that the front air bags went off.... was the impact from 90 degrees from the front????
was the car moving???? was the car that hit the side larger???
did the impact slow down the speed of the car that was hit.. if so.. it might trigger the front air bags... do to the sudden G forces exerted on the accelerometers..
you might really want to see if you can get from a automotive training school... some training manuals on the air bag system,,,
you also might want to subscribe to eautorepair.net.. or alldatadiy.com... and read up on their air bag theory and repair info...
