I own a 2001 Sable 24v OHC, here is my issue I have lost what I think is overdrive, the cars shifts smoothly till bout 55mph & then will not shift and runs bout 3k rpm, orginally the check engine light came on & I had it coded 420/430 (cats) I pulled the battery out to replace it & now the check engine light has yet to turn back on (approx 10 days) issue is still the same. What will happen is after about 25-30 miles on the HWY only the trans ax light will begin to flash, can anyone possibly advise on some solutions. I need to know if the tranny has code that can be read even though no check engine light is on, as well as does this seem to be a sensor issue?

There should be a code stored in the computer.And check the freeze frame data to see what was happening when the code set.Of coarse you need a scanner to do this.
