Mark Levinson, provider of quality sound and stereo equipment for the Lexus community, has debuted their new 5.1 Surround System for the brand new 2006 Lexus GS Sedan.  This system comes with 14 speakers and 330 watts.  Also comes with: 

     *  Discrete 5.1 multi-channel playback via a 7.1 speaker topology
     *  Mark Levinson Surround (MLS) audio software optimizes discrete 5.1
        playback for Multiseat(TM) listening and provides a surround sound
        experience for stereo source material.
     *  Full digital transmission from the digital source to the discrete
        output topology power amplifiers
     *  Proprietary metal cone midrange and tweeter transducers
     *  5.1 Dolby Digital and DTS decoding of DVD Video, DVD Audio and DVD-R
        discs

So much for Acura's short-lived monopoly on DVD Audio.
 

Lexus and Mark Levinson have been known for some of the best stock car audio set ups in the LS models for years. no surprise they have done something like this in the new GS

I have not heard it yet - but I am willing to bet it sounds wonderful.

I often wonder if I should have gotten an LS430... so many gadgets in such a nice car for such a reasonable price. But then I remember I am not 50 :-)

 

hey mark , any idea ..suggestion on ability to have the dvd play while car is in gear as wellas when stopped in park? doesnt lend itself much use w/the way they have it set-up to show dvd's only while stopped.
