I have a 1991 Dodge Dakota and I have to keep switching out batteries and charging them cause my alternator isn't charging so everything is running off of my battery does anyone know what the problem could be? My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org thanks
Most vehicles today also have the voltage regulator internal to the alternator. Most better auto parts stores will check the system for you at no charge and will be able to verify that the alternator and/or the regulator is bad.
After verifying it's an alternator problem and not a bad ground, you could purchase a rebuild kit for half the price of the cheapest rebuilt. I'm thinking of rebuilding an alternator and would like to know anyone's experience with the rebuild kits.
