I know this is a lot to ask but I need some help with a few problems and what parts I need so I can get prices.  I have put up some topics on this truck before and gotten the help I was looking for.  I have recently heard squeaks coming from the rear of the vehicle.  I chocked the front wheels, jacked up the rear put it in neutral and turned the rear wheels by hand.  I heard the knocking in the drive shaft and the rear U-joints are BAD. Do I need just the $17 U-joint or do I need another part as well? also at about 1-2k RPM the engine squeaks.  the serpentine belt is fine , could this be the water pump? Finally the truck bogs down when I jump on it from a dead stop. Plugs and wires? Fuel Pump and filter? Relays going bad?  thanks for looking at this.  I need a reply by today or tomorrow so this is a lot to ask I know.  I live in Grand Rapids, MI and am trying to sell the truck in the next day or so.  PLEASE HELP!  Thank you!

just the u joint..  unless it got so bad as to wear into the yoke also.

the squeaking could be from an idler pulley..   or just about any of the "driven pulleys" to test..  take the belt off.  an turn each one by hand.   the idler is more common to go bad.   but could be alternator or??   water pumps tend to start leaking when they have bad bearings..   this is assuming that the squeaking is if fact coming from the belt or pulleys.   another thing you can do to verify this..   is start the car when you have the belt off for a second or two..    just to be sure it's not soemthing else.    also look for debris caught up in the pulleys...

the bog trouble...   i dunno from what you said.    check engine light on?   cold be anything from dirty injectors or bad plugs to a broken sensor or emission control

Yeah.  I got a bad sensor... Two actually.  O2 sensors.  And at $60+ a piece, I really don't want to buy new ones and put them in.  I have used half a can of liquid wrench on them and they are pretty well rusted in.  I don't want to break them trying to get 'em out or I will be looking at more money to spend but taking it to a shop will cost way more than the $150 I may spend to do it myself.  Gah, life sucks sometimes but I can deal with it for now since my fuel mileage is not too bad.  I got 22 highway before and now I'm down to 18 so not too much to worry about.

stuck oxygen sensors...  ohh...   kick the last guy who had them out... if they have ever been out..

behind every parts counter are little packages of spark plug anti seize...   99 cents usually ...  it has powered aluminum in it... that way you know you have the right one when you use it...     clean the threads in the pipe with a wire brush ( a 3/4" copper pipe fitting cleaning brush works great..)   a making sure there is enough anti seize on the threads but not where it can get to the sensor... if the anti seize gets in the end of the sensor or into the cat.. damage may result..

failure to use anti seize... will require a ton of work to get them out .. but you knew that...    there are also a few new tools available...  ever seen a flex head spark plug ratchet????   someone built a new tool with a bent handle with a crow foot end on a swivel just for doing oxygen sensors...   i think they were under 20 bucks at AZ stores.. hanging in the tool isle...

spraying the oxygen sensor with lubricants. can also damage them...  they have a small open port on the top side.. that might get oil in it...
