Hello everyone. I bought a 2001 A6 2.7T on Sunday from a used dealer who sells mostly Audi, BMWs, Porches, ect. and took it for a 30 mile test drive and it went well. During the test drive, I didn't push it that hard. I floored it twice no problems. Later that day, after buying it, during the hottest part of the day, I floored it to 50 mph once more with my house mate with me (and no, I don't plan on flooring really that much after that). Within 1 minute, we were back at our house, I parked it, turned off the engine and opened the hood. At that time, the car leaked about half a quart of clean oil:

After it was mostly done dripping, I turned on the engine and the dash had the following engine hot symbol, but it didn't start leaking until I parked it and turned off the engine:

I noticed that the water level in the reservoir was depleted, so I brought the level up to the "max" level since the engine was hot. After 2 hours of sitting and cooling off, I drove it for 1 hour, avoiding the freeways, and it wasn't leaking anything. By the way, before it leaked any oil, the oil stick showed it had plenty of oil. Currently, the Audi is getting an advanced inspection done to see if they can pin point the problem, but this is the second day in the shop and they say they can't find the reason. They did say after they drove it, the water level was low, but it's not leaking anything, so he believes there is air in the cooling system. He is going to see to that.
Ok, so does anyone have an idea why the car would leak that much oil?
BTW, I have only paid for half the price tag and will pay it off when I know what the issue is. The guys who sold me the car said bring it in, and they will fix it and get me into a BMW or something while they fix it. But before I do that, I am having my car inspected to find out if there is any other issues. That is where my car is now, but if they can't find any major things which could account for the oil incident last Sunday, how will the guy's mechanic?? And also the guys said their mechanic did and inspection before they sold it to me and they said they replaced the head gasket.
