What year is the F150 and is it a 2wheel drive or a 4x4? What is the engine size?

Sorry but Ford never made a 6.2 Is that what you have been asking for when you call for a new trans?

OK ....the 4.2 was used only in the F150 and the F250, and the other 4x4 Ford vehicles , like the Ranger used the 4.0 and the explorer used the 4.0. So you are pretty much reserved to find a replacement trans to a F150 with a 4.2 engine. Did you contact any shops for a price on rebuilds? Some shops will do "bench" job ,if you can do the R&R of the trans. A bench on this trans for a basic "bench" rebuild , should run between $1200.00 to $1500.00 with a new converter. And should give you at least a 12 month warranty. It is not a complicated trans to rebuild and in the the form of the AOD and the AODE have been around since the early 80s. The 4R70 trans is a take off the AOD and the AODE transmissions.
