How do you safely revove the steering wheel on a 2007 model compass, I want to add cruise control kit?  

find a factory service manual....    there are air bags in the steering wheel... they can blow up  if you do it wrong...  they can blow up later if you mess it up now...

it is truly important to have the wheels pointing straight ahead..

and lock the clock spring so it cannot unwind...  the clock spring has to be able to allow the turn all the way to the right and all the way to the left without binding..    

find proper written instructions...   i also wonder where you are going to attach the cruise control too... as i seem to recall that is a drive by wire application..   so there is nothing to attach your kit to...  i may be totally wrong...
