I cant get the transmision out of park sometime it will not release auto tranny  

i bet the brake light switch is going bad...

or the shift release interlock switch or wiring...  some brands of cars have switches that swing with the pedal... the wires to that brake light switch fail do to fatigue... no brake lights... no getting it out of gear...

except...  that with the key turned to the first position ... not far enough to turn on anything.. but far enough to unlock the steering wheel... you can usually get the shifter out of park... drop it in neutral... and start the car..

some shift interlocks are cable operated... along with a solenoid...

i have not done any of the saturns... i bet that some of the others here have...
