Hi,
I have 2001 Sebring, 4 cyl, 2.4L, Sedan LX, and recently had problem with trans. fluid hose blowing off, it was when going through a gutter on parking lot. It spilled like 4 quarts. In the repair shop they told me it was happening quite often in this model.
The problem that there is now, it is hard shifting down at speed almost exactly 30 mph, when slowing down. This is on D position. I check how the transmission would behave on position 3, so it shifts much less rough, but still there is a feeling of stronger deceleration. And it is like happening every time when slowing down from higher than 30 mph.
They fixed trans. on Friday, and apparently put not enough fluid, since I had to refill like almost 2 quarts this morning (I was driving a bit on Friday evening only). Now, I think, maybe there was some air in the new fluid cooling box, that is why I could drive on Friday. The fluid level is ok now, but it just hard-shifts down at 30 mph, as I wrote above. The problem maybe was there before, as I think of it now, several months back, but it was very sporadic, so it did not look very serious.
Has anyone had a similar problem? Could it be solenoid - not correctly detecting speed, it happens only at this one speed. Thank you!
