Our mini-van heat is completely abscent now. We used to have this problem but could play with the temperature slider and it would get hot. Now, nothing. I truly hate this vehicle but it needs to last another year or so. We had the key not turning issue but thanks to this forum, a little graphite and a couple times having to tap it there is no longer and issue. My question is about this little temp slider. Is it replacable or due you have to get the whole heater control. I don't think it is a thermostat issue because the engine temp is fine. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks, AL from Metro Detroit

Your best bet is to find a heater contol from a wrecking yard it will save you alot of money. It should be all one piece with the rest of the controls. Though check all your vents to see if you have any heat from any of them. Most vehicles will default to the defrost mode. If there isnt there is a possibility of a clogged heater core. Also check to see ir your van is equipped with a temperature control valve it will be in line on your heater hoses running to the heater core in the engine compartment. It could be stuck closed.

i would also think that replacing the control head might help... any chance of getting somebody to scan for codes...
are you any good at soldering???? got a magnifying glass .. know hot to get the control head out???? can you take it apart and examine the circuit board.. for thermal damage to the individual solder joints.. little circles about half way up the solder points.. a circular crack... these happen a lot of circuit boards... and are sometimes easy to fix...
there is not a lot of info at the autozone web site... on the ac heater system...
i have not had the pleasure of working on these yet...
so i am giving you basic info that fixes many other cars... and i fix cars with this every day...
