Kia Sportage 1998 Immobiliser Crap

Hi, anyone out there know how to disconnect the immobiliser on a Kia Sportage 1998 model?  Everytime I need to replace the battery on the car, the immobiliser cuts in and the car wont start, I not only have to pay for a new battery, but towing to the dealer (who dont offer a mobile service), and re-keying of the immobiliser EVERY TIME!!! Not acceptable, but Kia Australia tell me "thats just how it is" grrrrrrr!
