Yesterday the service engine soon light popped on. This morning I filled up the gas tank (it still had about an 8th of a tank) and as soon as I started the car the light turned off. Any ideas? Should I still get it checked? I still think I am just to play it safe, but any ideas would be great. Thanks,Dan
The number one cause of the "Check Engine" light coming on is when the gas tank cap has not been closed properly. Air is allowed into the tank for it failed to seal, thus causing the Check Engine light to illuminate. Opening and closing the cap once again should solve the problem.
