I have a 2007 GMC Yukon that will not start or even turn over. It has a new battery. Any suggestions?  

so many things....  dirty cables... dead new battery..(been there, done that) bad starter, stolen starter...(been there twice in one day)

burned fuseable link, alarm failure, alarm installation failure, (improper crimps in wiring)  burned contacts in igntion switch, bad starter relay,  truck not all the way in park,

bad ground wires on engine block...  dirty ground wires on engine block. bad starter relay..

so many things...

test for voltage at the battery...   over 12.5..   test for voltage under the dash... over 12.4..  so many things it could be..

if you get good power at the battery... try a jumper wire from the top terminal on the starter..to the S terminal.. see if that will cause the engine to crank..


two stolen starters in one day needs explaining..   one lady.. 69 ford econoline van with a 3 speed manual trans.. her battery was stolen.. and the cables cut.. she replaced them.. and the battery... still nothing.. called me.. i took a look and found that the starter wire was hanging..   the starter was gone...    when i was done replacing that starter..  another fellow came over.. his stick shift ford pickup would not start also...   i ask if he had checked the starter.. his reply was it was just installed last week..  he checked.. gone also..    i started laughing..  the truck and van owner just did not understand..  not at them... at the poor sap who broke down and stole two starters trying to get home.. and if you know anything about ford starters... most of the stick shift applications use a starter with a shorter nose. ... it won't start an automatic..  it will just sit there and grind.. then they started laughing also...
