Every morning it takes 4/5 minutes to start. Once it is warmed up there is no problem, runs great and starts fine the rest of the day. Next morning, same thing, takes about 12 to 15 cranks to keep it running. Pops through the carb and runs badly until warmed up. When cruising and I accelerate it starves for gas and flattens out, except when well warmed up, then runs great, but has to warm up for about 10 to 15 minutes. A mechanic had it 3 weeks and did nothing to help. Stumped him. Please would like some help.

Have the fuel pressure checked during a cold start situation. Could be a clogged fuel filter or worn fuel pump.

It all checks OK. I just started it for the first time today in warm weather, it started good and revs up fine, it is something about cold weather. Is there a sensor for cold start? It may be bad.

Have you had it checked to see if any codes come up? Otherwise, by what you hay described, its seems to be a fuel delivery issue. Perhaps you may not be getting an enrichment for cold engine conditions via an engine coolant sensor defect. I had a similar condition on a Windstar van, no cold speed idle. If you took your foot of the gas it died, untill engine warmed up then it ran fine. I cleaned the throttle body and the sensors in there and replaced the engine coolant sensor and it was "good to go" again.
