My son was driving down the road the other day and this truck just quit running. Would not restart. Had the truck towed home and did some checking on what we thought might be the problem. First thought it was a fuel problem, changed the filter. ( did not go far enough here because we did not check if we were actually getting fuel to the filter) mistake#1. Next we thought it might be an electrical problem, took the alternator to the auto parts store and the guy said it was over charging at 17V, and the bearings were shot. So we get a new one and put it on. My son also notices somewhere around this time, I'm not sure if it was before or after we tried to crank the truck up with the new alternator, but he found the ECM fuse had been blown.Changed the fuse and the truck started right up and ran perfectly for just about three minutes and shut off again. Had a couple other people tell us to change the fuel pump relay (did that) replace the ECM (did That)As it stands right now if the fuel pump relay is left apart, and you turn the key on , the fuse will not blow. If you connect the fuel pump relay together,as soon as you turn the key on, witout even trying to start the truck, the fuse blows. My feeling is it is most likely a fuel pump problem, I just don't want to keep chaseing these quesses. If anyone knows a sure fire way to test for this kind of problem please help me out. I'm running out of time patience and money. Thanks everyone. Doc

I am having a similar problem on my 92 S15. Where was the blown ECM fuse? In the fuse panel under the dash on the driver's side? Which ECM fuse? The ECM IGN or BAT fuse? I too am trying to check out and correct any problem that is resulting in no spark for my rig.
Thanks.
Mike
