This started suddenly, when you first start the car the lights on the gauge handles (or whatever they are called) flicker and this continues and sometimes after the car has been driven 30 minutes then the dash will light up completely and stay lit, otherwise it is all dark, with the exception of the gear indicator lights.  Other times it doesn't light up at all.  I would liken it to a fluourcent light bulb trying to come on, that sort of flicker.  Does anyone have a clue what this might be?  

This might have already been answerd, not sure. I had the same problem with my dash, some tachometer needle only half lit and no dash lights or needles on the other. Found a speedometer shop in Tacoma Washington that repaired the back lighting and fuel gauge problem. They were not able to fix the half lit needle though, charged me 258.00 for the repair and got it back to me in a one day turn around. They said it was a pretty common problem. Looked up there invoice heres there number 1 800 677 3336 hope this might help some people save some money.
