I bought a Buick from  a Dealer on whidbey Island WA, at this point I'm not going to
say which one until he has a chance to respond to the email I sent him last night.

I was out car shopping with my son who was 16 at that time, this was last Nov,07
I choose this dealer becasue my brother had dealt with him a few times and trusted him.
My son was excited and biting at the bit, well we saw a few we really liked but becasue of all the comforts and just how this SUV felt driving it,  we made a deal for a Buick Rendezvous, 2002  60,000 miles,, Ten grand. Two days ago the tranny started slipping, this car now only has 79,000 miles on and I'm thinking this is way too soon, ive always cared for it properly so after reading some info from a few sites I decided to take it and have the tranny flushed, it was only slipping slightly from 1st to 2nd gear, otherwise it was fine, although I noticed one more thing odd, the engine was running a lil hot, maybe 20 pct, Well after having the flush done, and at this point I'm not sure it was done properly becasue all that was supposed to be done had not been done, I was told that the gasket didn't need changing as it was resusable, well thats another Story I guess, But I learned last night that this car has had an Action lawsuit filed filed and won against GM, the whole point I guess is that when I purchased the car the dealer kept this a big secret, the suit was filed becasue as some of you may have already read leads to some major repair needs- related to the coolant they used at the factory. So this dealer I trusted in lt went as far as to re-encourage me to buy an extended warranty, but didnt share any other information failed me, is it possible he wasn't aware of the suit?,,,,this is something I would really like to know, if hes a smart dealer, then of course he was. I'm pretty unhappy again with yet one more shady Dealer!!!

well, i skimmed through your post and i certainly dont have any direct answers for you, but i have to say this:
you cant blame the guy selling the car for either the way it was built, or the service life of the transmission. if the car had a problem when you bought it, then you'd have a case against the sales dept, but really 19 thousand miles later, how could he possibly know the trans would start to act up? I work as a GM dealer tech, and im not going to even try to stand up for GM or that dealer, but i can tell you that in my experience i've found that salesmen are in no way technicians. We literally cant even trust our sales team to drive a vehicle through the shop, but they can sell cars like mad. Thats what they do-sell.

just keep in mind, to the salesman that you got that car from you were probably 1 of 10 that he sold that month, and that car was only 1 of a full lot of vehicles that he has to keep mental tabs on and know some basic information on like features, gas mileage, engine power, interior material, things like that. of all the things they need to know about every vehicle that's on that lot, i doubt he could predict that 19 thousand miles later you'd have a hardened seal or a piece of debris in your trans that would show itself in the form of a 1-2 slip.

again, im not sticking up for anyone, i'm just trying to show a realistic view point of the people that you're accusing. If the trans flush wasnt done correctly, or if there's a leak because of it, then you deserve to have the problem fixed-you paid them to service your car, not create more problems. if the transmission concern is a legit problem due to normal driving, then my best suggestion would be to call GM customer satisfaction, or whatever line it is, and explain to them that you have a problem that you see as being premature, especially if you know there were cases filed against GM on those vehicles. Lord knows we've seen our fair share of engines and transmissions replaced by GM for out of warranty vehicles.

Hope this helps
