Hello,

I need to by a new car and I am looking at a 2001 Toyota Solara 2 door with 149000km and a 2003 Kia Amanti 4 door with 104000km.  They are both loaded, both cost $10,600.  Any thoughts on which is the better car ~ all things considered?

I know nothing about cars, I just want a good solid car that won't fall apart and that is safe.

Any advice would be most helpful!

Thank you very much,
Karen

Ah... the thrill of the hunt!

I own a shop and have seen something on the Kia the turns me off, If a timing belt blows while driving it not only blends valves it stuffs them through the tops of the pistons. In everyday language  "the motor is junk" very expensive!

If the Toyota has the 4 cylinder I'd go with that one even though the mileage is more. The other thing is they both sound WAY over priced.
