I'm about to purchase 18" x 7" rims for my 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT. I have 17" rims on it now. What's the best brand/size for my $? I'm looking for something that isn't going to wear out too quick. I don't burn out my tires, and I only go around 100mph...every once in a while I'll get it up to 150, but that's rare, and not for very long when I do. I just need something that'll hold up.Edit: From everything that I'm finding, I need 225/40/18s. I've located a few cheaply priced tires on e-bay, and was wondering what everyone thought about them. Nankang and Nexen are the ones that are rated for what I believe I need. This is just my daily driver...I'm not going to be doing any drag racing with them. Are these any good for the $ or can anyone suggest some better inexpensive brands?
Here is my personal opinion...the words Nankang and/or Nexen should never be used in the same sentence with 100MPH (let alone 150MPH). "Spirited" drivers understand the value of quality products. If your budget limits your ability to buy the appropriate product it may be time to re-evaluate your driving habits....your continued good health may depend on it.
