The Key won’t turn off on my 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 3.9 liter conversion van.  Started it up to head to work and noticed that the abs and air bag lights on. Also I am getting no radio or heater fan, windshield wipers. Then I went to shut off the engine and the key would not move to the off position. Parked and pulled the “auto shut down relay” to kill engine and removed battery connection. Following day installed battery and still key would not turn to off position but would start the engine. But still have lights and accessories wont operate and  A.S.D.R.  is pulled to stop engine.  I have wiggled wires in steering column and swapped around relays to attempt to clear trouble. And have used rubber mallet in tumblers to see if tumbler is jammed.  

got a set of tamper proof torx bits... you will need them...

a steering wheel puller also...

you might want to make sure that the shifter is returning to park... but with the lack of power to some of the circuits ...  more than likely .. you will need to replace parts.  

Thank you for your reply.  I have shifted the transmission in and out of park several times.  It seems electrical since the tumbler will go forward to jog the starter and then back to the on position.  I crawled under the van and did some more wiggling on the linkages on the transmission. All seems ok on the Trans.  I may have to take this one to the dealer ouch.
