I have a 98 GMC Jimmy. I currently have an issues with the temperature control. I set the temperature dial to hot the other day, now when I turn the dial to cold the air coming in is still hot. Im getting nothing but warm air in the car, I removed the dial to see if it was stripped, its ok. Seems like something is stuck and preventing air from the AC or air from outside to come in. Can someone help, Is this something I can fix myself or do I have to take it in?
Thanks, S

Have you unhooked the battery at all? I see there's a bulletin on a reset procedure, goes like this:
Calibration of the electronic climate control module occurs whenever B+ is removed and then restored to the electronic climate control module. During this calibration process the ECC module will automatically command the temperature door to the full HEAT position and then to full COLD position. The ECC module records both positions and uses this data to determine temperature door settings based on customer selected temperature settings.
Now if you haven't lost battery power you may have a temp door stuck or binding, you'd have to take the glove box out and watch for door movement.
Good Luck http://www.mikesauto.net

I'm glad I found this reply. My 1999 Jimmy w/ climate control had the same problem after I disconnected the battery to install a new radio. Heat and AC worked fine before the install, now only heat. Dealer say's it’s the temp door, 8hr labor @$90/hr + parts. How can I tell if the ECC module is not calibrating correctly? Thanks....

Found another post on how to reset the ECC, which I'll try tomorrow. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. Remove the RDO BATT fuse for 10 seconds and then reinstall the fuse. Place the ignition switch in the RUN position and wait 40 seconds for the ECC module to initialize.
