I am thinking of either the Avalon or Camry but the Avalon looks a little roomier. I wonder if it has a wider wheel base than the Camry. Anyone know. Is it as dependable as the Camry?

The Avalon is essentially a larger Camry. They're even made in the same factory. If you're totally stuck on Toyota, then it's a fine car, but I'd suggest taking a look at the new Hyundai Genesis sedan. I think it's a MUCH nicer car for about the same price.

The Genesis must be a new model because when i looked for the results of crash tests at the IIHS test site it wasn't listed.

These comments are helping me a lot in my own problem about the Avalon.

Camry's image has always been formal, feels like it's a car for a boss or a CEO.
Looking at the Avalon, it has a more "sporty" look.
The choice I guess will depend on the image that you would like to promote.

The new Avalon is larger than the Camry, and has a lot of power as well.
