I am new here so let me start by saying "hi".
I have a 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder. The automatic transmission lost all gears except low. It would get second at high RPM after popping the gas pedal. If it matters, it is a 2.4l engine and a 4 speed trans with OD model number F4A23
So, I stripped it down and did a complete rebuild with metals too. (and a shift kit)
I did find a broken wave spring for the low/reverse clutch and replaced that too.
The forward drive clutch pack was pretty well toasted too.
anyhow, all is new and installed this morning. I have NO gears now. in drive at about 4k rpm I do get a little forward movement but that is all. No reverse no matter what.
I am 99.9% sure I installed everything correctly in the rebuild.
What else could it be? What should I check? I am at my wits end.
Also, in any gear, the car rolls easily, like it was in neutral (except for park, of course)
Thanks for the any help you can offer.
Pete

Update!
I took out the valve body and found an error. I put a cover on wrong and it allowed a valve to come out.... so no pressure.
That is fixed but the original problem still persists... the problem that I had before rebuilding the transmission.
The car has no reverse at all. It will go into drive and stick in 1st or stick in 2nd or occassioinally shift very hard into second... no higher gears though. At too high an RPM, it will come out of gear until I slow down enough for it to go back into 1st or 2nd I suppose.
I do get an error code of P1750 whihc is a faulty solenoid code. I have tested all valves by hitting them with 12v power and they all clack like they are working. However, I run an ohm meter to them and at least one doesn't show the resistance it is supposed to.
Thanks again for any help you can lend.
Pete
