Noticed over the past year that my 2000 Ford Windstar (3.8/3.9L 6-cyl, Automatic) has had problems starting when the temperature changes.  Either from warm to cold, or vice-versa.  Noticed that it requires two or three tries to get it started. Doesn't always happen.  This seems to happen only if the car has been sitting for more than 4 or so hours.  If it's already warmed up, it starts fine.

It has about 95k on it.  Other than that, it's in good mechanical shape (no leaks, squeaks or noises).  Maybe a thermostat?  Was suggested that it might be the "choke" (or the equivalent used in cars today) but I think these are all electronic/hydrauliclly controlled.

By the way, I think it has a 3.8L but may be a 3.9L (if that exists).  It's a 6 cylinder automatic with AC (front and rear).  It's an LX model, if that helps (power everything, ABS, cruise, etc).  Trying to give as much info as possible.
I don't know if the spark plugs/wires have been changed, but it does run fine once it starts, so I'm thinking those are OK.

Any suggestions?
