After having my Michelin P235/70R 16 tires rotated I have noticed a lot of tire noise. Are the tires directional?  If you move the back right to the front left and the back left to the front right will there be additional noise?

What you have is irregular wear.  Irregular wear is caused by misalignment and aggravated by insufficient inflation pressure and insufficient rotation practices.

So the first step would be to fix the source of the problem - get an alignment.  That will prevent the problem from getting worse.

The alignment will also prevent the problem from reoccurring - provided you keep up the inflation pressure checks and tire rotation schedule.

But after the alignment, you'll still have the irregular wear and the noise.  2 choices:  Either live with the noise until a new wear pattern developes (this may take several thousand miles) or replace the tires.  BTW, this is not covered by warranty because the problem isn't the tire - It's the vehicle.
