I removed my wiper motor because it was not working. I hooked it up to the car battery directly and it spins non-stop, indicating to me it is operational. I've noticed a clicking noise in the dash when I move the wiper switch through its settings (Delay, low, hi). I also noticed that when I plug the motor back in the car harness, (with the switch set to Hi) and manually twist the motor 1/4 turn, that the motor then activates and completes the 3/4 remaining for a full rotation. It then stops. I can twist it 1/4 turn again with the same result. Is there a relay in the dash that I need to replace that is making the clicking noise? Is it the hi/low beam wand switch that is causing the problem? Any help in troubleshooting is appreciated.

You probably are having trouble with the control module for the windshield wiper motor. Change the wiper control module.
