I started backing up and made it about a foot and lost reverse.Now I here a slight whining noise in reverse.Also only have 1st and 3rd now I think.Might it be a easy fix or do I need a whole rebuild.

Sounds to me like you have a broken sun shell/ planetary, or some other problem with the reaction carrier Assembly. This will require a rebuild.
