I have discovered why I am having shifting problems with my 94 Ford Escort 5 speed manual trans. The plastic gear on the end of the speedometer cable housing has broken off and fallen down inside. I have drained the oil, but cannot see the gear. Any suggestions on how how to find and remove the gear without having to take the transaxle out. Shared ideas would be appreciated. Thanks
