Hi guys

I am new on this forum, I am student of college. Well I need some assistance with the systems that need to be checking. A family member of mine has problem with her car, her car is called vw lupo 1.4 sport. She said that she has problem when she drive on the road and change to the gear to slow down the car as her foot comes off the clutch then the revs drop right down and the car (the engine) dies strange away. She can restart the engine and drive but it keeps going on the same way round as it like loops. Strange things happens as I have never heard the problem before, the college didn't tell me the problem because I am on level one education of motor vehicle at the moment i am waiting to move to level two, please can you reply the problem that need to be checking. She said that it always happens when she is on the low speed about 5-10mph in first gear or maybe 2nd gear she is not really noticed what gear she uses on. I asked her if it is battery is causing, she said that the battery is fully charged. I asked her if the spark plugs are dirty that need to be clean, she said that she have already checked the spark plugs and it is already clean.




I am not really sure what the problem is but it could be fuel stav problem?? If I am correct then in what system do she have to check for fuel like e.g


Check the leakage under the fuel tank to see if the problem is causing
Check the leakage under the pipe to see if it causing the problem
Check the fuel pump to ensure they pump the fuel properly and delivery to the engine
Check the fuel level to ensure that enough fuel is on fuel tank
Check the fuel filter to ensure if the fuel is blocked that do not have bypass value, might need to change.
Check air filter to ensure that enough air to get into the engine




....etc



If my discuss of the car when they run and dies are talking about fuel stav then please let me know and what system need to be checking or what other problems that is causing which need to be checking then i will be able to advise her further.
