Hello, I have a 1994 Dodge b350 van, LOVE IT, it's a MULE....just had the tranny rebuilt but it's doing the same thing it was before i had it done (that's why i took it in)...here goes::
Van drives and shifts good. BUT, when towing 4000lb boat, transmission will just "slip" out of 4th gear after tranny gets warm. Usually, 15-20 miles out. It's weird, its just pulling great, then all of a sudden, the clutch just kinda lets go and the rpms go up. Only seems to happen in high gear, (OD is off, of course)...PLEASE need some ideas, tranny shop thinks im crazy. Van pulled great for 6 or 7 years before this. As i said, the transmission is OK through the first 2 gears, and even OD seems to be working...What could this be? Something they didn't rebuild, I would guess? Like a valve or something?? ARRRGhh..
