Hi,
I've had my Honda Accord for 9 years, put 132,000 miles on it. Now it has 162,000 miles on it.
The car has been just great. Very little to keep it going.
Now I am getting a whine when it shifts and my mechanic wants me to have the transmission checked out.
On the phone, the guy said it would probably cost a minimum of $1800 to rebuild the current transmission.
At some point in the near future I was going to give my daughter the car as she needs one.
So is it worth it to put the money into the car at this point? Thereare no other issues as of yet.
Any input would be appreciated.

OK.Now I have a transmission guy telling me that there is a loose bearing in the transmission?
Is it better to have the current one rebuilt or get a used one in there?
Or is there anything else I can do.
Thanks
