2000 Saturn wagon. I need to recharge ac, but I can't get compressor to run to suck in the R-134. I found what appears to be the low pressure switch (jump switch-engage compressor, right?), but it has 3 wires. ??? Any clues?
Thanks in advance,
TC

How do you know it needs recharged? did you put gages on this system? Did you have the system open? Or did it just quick working? The 3 wire switch is usually the high side pressure switch.

Bought it last fall, engine had been replaced, system not charged. Had a shop check it out. Filled system, worked ok, but small leak at seal, so I had 'em evacuate it. Now I'd like to fill it with stop leak r-134.
The only switch I found (3 wires)was near the front rt corner of car. I assume there's a low pressure switch, since compressor does not kick on. Do you know where the low pressure switch is on this model?
Thanks,
TC

On my car, it was located near the condenser. It had three wires and I had to jump numbers one and three together with the car running to engage the clutch.
One recommendation that I would make is since the system has been evacuated I would replace the seals and then recharge the system. I have never had success with the stop leak stuff. All it did was junk up my system and still allowed the freon to leak through a pin size hole.
