My 1998 Mitsubishi Mirage is stuck in second gear (Limp Mode) and I know nothing about this. When this first happened I started the car and imediately noticed that the gear indicator panel lights stopped working. (the lights on the dash that tell you whether you are in park, drive, etc.) I checked all of my fuses and they are fine. I also noticed that it really slams into gear now when you put it into drive or reverse. Any ideas on what this could be? And how far can i drive like this?

If you are driving in limp mode you should have codes in the PCM, did you pull the codes? look for current and history codes.
